I was giving a second look at my TODO list and found that there were lots of items which were more than six month old, but would take only a few minutes for me to complete (Lazy bug in action again). I was try to knock out most of them and one such item was to convert my SCJP logo from EPS format to gif and upload it to my certification page. I promised to do it on July 15 last year. 😀
So I downloaded the trial version of Photoshop and then converted the logo into gif format and have uploaded it in my certification page. You can see it at the very end.
Well got to go know and start knocking down the other old but small things from my TODO list, before the Lazy bug could bite me again 🙂

Sun Microsystems is introducing a new beta exam called Sun Certified Business Component Developer (SCBCD) 5.0 exam.
It is a beta exam which means you need not pay anything for it and is totally free. The only requirement to receive the Welcome Kit is that you should have already cleared the Sun Certified Programmer exam (any edition).
SCBCD is for developers who are responsible for designing and implementing applications using Enterprise JavaBeans 3.0. If you are one then don’t hesitate and the registration begins from November 24th. More details about the exam can be got from Sun’s training site. The objectives of SCBCD exam can be found in the Exam Objectives page.
Important dates to remember
Beta Dates: December 8, 2006 – January 2, 2007
Registration Start Date: November 24, 2006
Since I have already completed SCJP, I am going to take this exam. Any one else interested? 😉
Update: If you are looking for some study material then check out the SCBCD study material by Mikalai. Thanks Mikalai.

I just received the Welcome Kit for the SCJP which I completed last month. Similar to the Microsoft welcome kits, it contained the signed certificate, welcome letter and also the wallet card.
My request for the SCJP logo was also approved and I have downloaded it. But it is in eps format. I have to convert it into either gif of jpg format and will upload it in my certification page once it is done.
Can any one suggest me a tool which would convert files from eps format to either gif or jpg?
Update (Jan 13 2007) : Finally I converted the logo file from eps format to gif format using Photoshop and updated my certification page.

Finally I cleared my SCJP exam after a year of procrastination.
I decided to do SCJP almost a year back and planned to take up the exam for more than two times but thanks to my laziness I kept postponing it until last Tuesday.
I will try to scan the report card and post it here if I connect my scanner to my system again 🙂

It’s been quite a while since I have been talking about my certifications. There were some comments about them too.
The reason being that I was bitten by the ‘Lazy Bug’ and now some how I have overcome that and I am planning to finish SCJP before the end of 2005.
I was able to overcome this ‘Lazy Bug’ because of the frustration that I faced this weekend.
Warning: If you’d rather not read a rant, please move on – Seriously.
Note: I stole this warning message from here. Hopefully Jeremy doesn’t mind this one 😉 😉 ) Hopefully ‘Lazy bug’ doesn’t bite me again.
If you had followed this one up till here then here is some interesting information. Do you know how I composed this one? I wrote in a paper with a pen (yes believe me) and then typed it during my lunch time at office.
Does any one else got affected by this ‘Lazy bug’? Share them here.

Work has become hectic again and believe it or not I came to office even last Sunday too. So no time to update the blog 🙁
Sorry people for keeping you waiting.
Last week I brought the voucher from Sun Microsystem at 25% discount for my SCJP. It’s valid till July 2006. But I have put my preparation on hold due to the work pressure.
Oops my boss is calling me, will get back to you soon.

I have taken a really looong break after my last exam. So its time that I start studying again for exams and after much thought I have finally decided my next exam. It’s going to be SCJP (CX-310-035).
The reason for choosing SCJP is that, for the next year or two I have to work mostly in java and will not be able to use much of .NET (at least at work).
Currently Sun is giving a discount of 25% for the exam till 30th of June. But I don’t think I can take up the exam with 9 days. I have kept the third week of July as my target for this exam. Hope I meet it.
BTW I am planning to use the book Sun Certified Programmer and Developer for Java 2 Study Guide (Exams 310-035 and 310-027) by OSBORNE. Does any one have a better suggestion..?
PS: Probably my friend Ram could help me, as he has already completed SCJP 😉

Sun Microsystems is celebrating Java Technologies 10th Birthday by giving a 25% discount on Java Technology Certification Exams. This offer is for a limited period from May 23, 2005 to June 30, 2005 and is available worldwide. More information about the offer can be found here.
That’s a very good news for guys like me who want to take these exams as they are costly when compared with Microsoft Certification exams.
Also Sun is introducing a new beta exam named SCJA (Sun Certified Java Associate). This exam targets Entry level java programmers with at least 6 months of experience. Even this exam is offered worldwide. For more details check out this page.
In my previous post I mentioned that Microsoft’s offer is favoring my decision towards MCSD, but after seeing this offer will it shift to SCJP ?

Hmm, Cleared my 70-320 exam also and attained my MCAD certification.
As I told (in my blog) 70-320 was little difficult for me to prepare. But the exam wasn’t that difficult as I expected. But I had lot of questions from ADO.NET, which really helped me 😉 and I got 968 this time. As usual Microsoft Self-paced kit was very useful for this exam.
So, now the big question, what is next? And the immediate answer is break 😉 I have been continuously writing exams for nearly 4 months now. So planning to take a break for about a week or two and then start with my next exam. And in the mean time I should decide my next exam. I have two options.
- First one is to go for MCSD (I have only two more to go) or
- Go for SCJP (Sun Certified Java Professional)
Right now I am not able to decide which one to go for. So people give me your suggestions.
