I just came back from yet another amazing event by HasGeek. This time it is DroidCon.
DroidCon
DroidCon is a developer conference and is part of world’s largest series of Android conferences. It happened at Bangalore on 18th and 19th of November.
Slides from my talk
I gave a talk about building robots using Android and Arduino. I explored the different ways by which you can make both Android and Arduino talk to each other, concentrating on the advantages and disadvantages of the different approaches.
When I find some free time, I will write about these approaches in more detail with code samples for each of them. So stay tuned 🙂
You can find the slides from my talk below.
Demo Video
Thanks to Arun for shooting this video
Demo source code
I also showed demo of my pet bot Asimi (more details about her later). You can download the source code and learn more about the bot from its homepage.
Update
Here is the video of my talk.
Hi sudar.
actually I am doing my masters project and facing many problems.
I am making a dmx512 lighting protocol using arduino duemilanove but I am not getting baud rate of 250k in this arduino board.
can you please tell me how i can solve this problem.
thanks
I don’t think you can get that much baud rate in Arduino. Try posting in Arduino forum to see if there are any alternate solutions.
Hi Sudar! I watched your video. It was very amazing. Really congrats!
Can you please tell me which bluetooth module you have used? Have you used any specifice bluetooth sheild or simple bluetooth dongle which is available in general market?
It would be better if you provide any link to purchase the Arduino/ADK and bluetooth.
Thank you..
I used this Bluetooth module from Sparkfun. https://www.sparkfun.com/products/10268
But you can also use a USB Host shield and a bluetooth dongle.
If you are in Bangalore, then you can use one of these places to buy Arduino. http://sudarmuthu.com/blog/buying-arduino-in-bangalore
Thanks a lot Sudar…
I stay in Pune.My budget is very low.So its better for me to go for Bluetooth dongle.
Thanks though.
Do you have any idea about connection between Arduino and Android phone using Bluetooth dongle?Any material/links??
Thank you so much!!
To connect Arduino and Android using Bluetooth Dongle and USB Host Shield, refer to this blog post http://www.circuitsathome.com/mcu/using-usb-bluetooth-dongle-on-arduino-to-connect-to-android-phone
Shree!!
You can buy bluetooth module costing around Rs.500-600 from http://www.digibay.in(http://www.digibay.in/bc04-wireless-bt-bluetooth-transceiver-module-rs232-ttl-master-slave). you can try it in http://www.dhgate.com, a chinese website.
