Over the past week, I have updated 4 of my WordPress Plugins and thought of consolidating all of them in a single post instead of creating multiple posts.
Posts By Tag
Posts by Tag WordPress Plugin, provides sidebar widgets which can be used to display posts from a specific set of tags in the sidebar.
I updated this Plugin to v1.7. It fixed a bug so it’s a mandatory update.
The following are the main changes
- Added support for displaying post dates
- Fixed a bug which was corrupting the loop.
Twitter Avatar Reloaded
Twitter avatar reloaded Plugin adds a new field to the comment form to get the user’s Twitter username and stores it together with comments and using it replaces gravatar with twitter avatar when the comment is displayed.
I updated this Plugin to v0.7. It is a mandatory update.
The following are the main changes
- Added 4 template functions to display the comment authors Twitter id and profile url.
Bulk Delete
Bulk Delete is a WordPress Plugin which can be used to delete posts in bulk from selected categories or tags. This Plugin can also delete all drafts, post revisions or pages.
I updated this Plugin to v1.3. It is an optional update

Easy ReTweet is a WordPress Plugin, which lets you add retweet or Tweet this buttons for your WordPress posts, together with the retweet count.

Stay updated
I would be posting updates about this Plugin in my blog and in Twitter. If you want to be informed when new version of this Plugin is released, then you can either subscribe to this blog’s RSS feed or follow me in Twitter.

Thanks Pracas.
You really made my day 🙂
Looks like Twitter has changed how to pass text into the “What’s Happening” comment box. Twitter is asking for developers to start using their new Web Intents method.
Discovered this when the Easy ReTweet plugin stopped working properly. It seems like http://twitter.com/?status=demo-text-here method for posting is being phased out.
Here’s the thread regarding this recent issue:
http://code.google.com/p/twitter-api/issues/detail?id=1650#c57
New Twitter Web Intents usage guide: http://dev.twitter.com/pages/intents
Hopefully this information helps guide you to updating the asy ReTweet plugin to deal with this (unanticipated) change by Twitter.
I am not using /?status= method for adding the retweet button. I checked the Plugin now and it seems to be working properly.
Can you explain me a bit more, when you say that it is not working properly. What is the error that you are getting etc.
Okay, I think I typed the comment a little too soon 🙂
There are two modes in the Plugin and the official twitter button mode is working, but the other one is not working.
I am currently working on the fix for it. Expect an update in a few hours.
Just fixed the issue and pushed the update. Download v2.5 of the Plugin and let me know if you are still facing this issue.
@sudar
The update to version 2.6 worked just great. The Twitter fix worked. Thanks!
Thanks for discussing the features here. I came to learn things I didn’t know before. Keep it up!
Sudar thanks a lot you Save my Soul works now as it should . At least one who digg deeper into that code .
This plugin (WP Mail SMTP) hasn’t worked for me–even with gmail configuration. I kept looking around until I found a blog that recommended the new ‘Configure SMTP’ plugin. It worked like a charm (and hide’s your gmail password).
Here’s the blog with instructions, just in case:

Also, if you’re using WAMP, you’ve got to go to:
Green Wamp Button > PHP > PHP Extensions > check php_openssl (and then restart WAMP)
