I am currently in Yahoo’s 5th Open hackday, which is happening in Bangalore and just finished my talk about using Flickr API for your hacks.

YQL Queries

Also the following are the YQL queries that I used during my demo. Replace the text API_TEXT with your actual API key.

// Select Photos that have the term Bike in them
select * from flickr.photos.search where text="Bike" and api_key="API_KEY" limit 10

// Get info about a particular photo
select * from flickr.photos.info where photo_id=2439864402 and api_key="API_KEY"

// Get the url of the photo with id 
select title, urls.url from flickr.photos.info where photo_id = '7751003932' and api_key = "API_KEY" 

// Do a subquery to get the urls of all photos that have the term Bike in them
select title, urls.url from flickr.photos.info where photo_id in (select id from flickr.photos.search where text="Bike" and api_key="API_KEY" limit 10) and api_key="API_KEY"

// Get exif data about a photo 
select * from flickr.photos.exif where photo_id='2186714153' and api_key="API_KEY"

// Recent photos that were uploaded
select * from flickr.photos.recent where api_key="API_KEY"

// Places

// Search for photos that were taken in Bangalore
