Work has become hectic again and believe it or not I came to office even last Sunday too. So no time to update the blog ๐
Sorry people for keeping you waiting.
Last week I brought the voucher from Sun Microsystem at 25% discount for my SCJP. It’s valid till July 2006. But I have put my preparation on hold due to the work pressure.
Oops my boss is calling me, will get back to you soon.
Nice Move Sudar. Hope You get it off Well. And Hope Your Work Pressure Subsides Enough for you to spend some time with Your Friends and Family. And Best of Luck with Your SCJP, although with Sun in the hands of MS, i think an MCSD would’ve been the Way To Go. Anyway, It’s Your Life and Your Choice. And Best of Luck for you and Sun.
Hi Fred,
Thanks for the wishes.
I choose SCJP bcoz, our client want all the people in our project to complete SCJP. BTW I have not abandoned MCSD. I will get back to it once I finish SCJP.
Hi Sudar.
Thanks for Responding. And, So, U Choose SCJP since ur Job Demands It. I appreciate ur Passion for Your Job.
But, You Should also have a Passion For Your Language or Platform. A Java Guy with a Passion for Java will find it opposite to his concience to go to .NET and vice Versa.
So, It is somewhat Strange to me that You have an MCAD and going to get an SCJP. I tried Learning Java after .NET and i found the Philosophy Quite COntradicting. So, I have a passion for .NET and i’d be a far better .NET Developer than a Java One.
So, Tell Me, What is your Passion ? Java ? .NET ?
Ya you are correct Fred. Most people who are passionate about .NET find it hard to learn Java and vice versa.
Actually I am more passionate towards Web Programming than either .NET or Java. I have worked in both .NET and Java and even in PHP too. And each of them has their own advantages and disadvantages. And all of them are good in their particular domain.
Hope now you know why I was so much fascinated by AJAX ๐
HI Sudar,
I never know AJAX, nor knew about your fascination;). But, That said, It’s good that you are geared and passionate about Web Development, Rather than a particular Technology, So it’s easy to switch between Technologies when Required.
Of course Each one has It’s Disadvantages and Advantages. Each language has a Niche, which it would be occupying.
And BTW, Web Services are changing the Scenario, and Aesthetic Web Services are not Used in Web Services. And Also, according to my limited(almost no;) knowledge of Java, i believe Java Web Services are different from .NET Web Services, atleast in the Development Phase.
So, how do u balance them ? Web Service Development is more like COmponent Development and quite different from Web Development, although both are Stateless.
So, being a Web Developer, how did u find the Transition to Web Services ? Good ? Easy ? Comment here……..
And BTW, Don’t let Work overtake you. Keep posting and maybe, even put some google ads out there;).
Hi Fred,
Ya you are correct. Web Service development is somewhat different in .NET and in Java. But the difference is mostly during the development stage of the web service itself. But when you consume the web service in your project, there is not much difference as the basic concept of web service (ie. SOA Architecture) is same in both of them.
But practically speaking we face lot of issues during the interoperation between Java and .NET ๐
And for the answer to ur question, as a web developer I feel that the transition to Web Service is not very difficult but at the same time it is not easy alsoรข?ยฆ
