    Hi Dhans,

No I am not planning to write SCWCD. I have shifted my focus towards PHP, Ruby and ASP.NET from Java.

All the best with your exam.

    Hello Haridas,

First identify which certification you are planning to take (Widows are Web Programming), then choose the language (VB or C#). Once you have identified it, choose the exams that you want to take and then prepare for them. I recommend Microsoft official training guides.

Then register for the exams in any prometric centers near you like NIIT. Let me know if you need any more information. All the best 🙂

For preparation, I strongly recommend you to get Microsoft Self-based preparation books. They are the best. Let me know if you need any more information.

    Hi Haridas,

The exam fees for each paper will be around 2500 Rs. You can take up the exam in any prometric center. NIIT and SSI are some of them.

You can take up exam 70-315. You can get more details about the exam at http://www.microsoft.com/learning/exams/70-315.mspx

    Hi Sudar,

What can I say? Wow! you are like a walking talking library when it comes to computers, these many certifications!!

Also, I’m undergoing a Java course in NIIT, and I’m planning to appear for SCJP in Feb, 09. Any tips on how to prepare for the same will be appreciated.

    Thanks

  • Sudar says:

    @Devakishor,

    ha ha 🙂

Regarding SCJP, there is a book from Sun Microsystems named “Sun Certified Programmer and Developer for Java 2 Study Guide (Exams 310-035 and 310-027)” which will surely help.

  • Devakishor says:

Thanks Sudar, will be getting that book to prepare…

  • Sabarish says:

    Hi All,

Writting certification is waste of time, Learn more think innovative and build challenging applications, you will get enough knowledge.

  • Prashant says:

    Hi Sudar,

Firstly I am impressed by your blog. Really insoiring one.
I am a software professional in Java .I would like to take up SCJP exam , I am planning to go for SCJP 1.6 ( though 1.7 beta has come).

Could you please advice on this ?

  • Ashok says:

    Hi Sudar,

I have completed my BE in 2010. I am having experience in corePHP, Javascript, wordpress, joomla, Drupal, Cakephp, XML. Also integrated some of the API’s like flight ticket booking, Paypal, Authorize.net, CCavenue etc.. I have learned and implemented all these things within last two years.

But most of my friends and relatives were asking me to shift from PHP to some other domains like Java,.NET. I am really in a dilemma stage now.

Please advise me on this. Thanking you in advance.

    • Sudar says:

I don’t think shifting completely from PHP to .NET or Java is going to give you tremendous benefits immediately. I would rather spend that time expanding or mastering PHP and other stuff you already know and would start a pet project in it.

Having said that it is good to learn new technologies, but just completely shifting from one another (just on the advice from someone) is not going to help you.
